Mattie's Jam Cake

Recipe Ingredients

• 2.50 c Brown sugar
• 4.00 c Flour
• 2.00 c Jam
• 3.00 t Cinnamon
• 2.00 t Nutmeg
• 15.00 oz Raisins
• 1.00 x Figs and dates as desired
• 2.00 c Sour milk
• 0.75 c Butter
• 2.00 t Baking soda
• 2.00 t Cloves
• 3.00 ea Eggs, lg
• 1.00 c Nutmeats

Recipe Directions

• Mix all ingredients together well except jam.


• Lastly, gently stir in the 2c jam.


• Pour into greased and floured 9"" round cake pans.


• Bake in 325 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.


• If desired, serve caramel icing.
